I currently work at Lakeview Elementary School in the 2nd,3rd, and 4th grade classes as an I.A. In the 3rd and 4th grade rooms the SMARTBoard, document camera, and the classroom computers are apart of the daily routine. The Kids love it! They look forward to times they get to use the "eggs" (we call them clickers). On the computers they do things from write up their papers to playing math games with students all over the world!
In the 2nd grade class the teacher doesn't like the SMARTBoard and rarely uses it. When she does she has the students' attention for twice as long! Why doesn't she use it regularly? She says it's too complicated. This makes me very sad. If something works as well as this seems to, why not take the time to learn it?
